"At our school we work together with all children and their families to enable individuals to make the most of their abilities and talents, whatever they are, by developing curious, thoughtful, creative learners who will be active and caring members of tomorrow's society."
The Building and Environment
Priory Infant School is a long established infant school. In 1995 we moved into our new building which has been designed and purpose built with young children in mind, providing a safe and stimulating environment. It is a large airy building with six individual classrooms in two blocks with shared quiet areas. We have a dedicated ICT suite and each class is fitted with an Interactive Whiteboard and extra computers. The hall is spacious with excellent PE facilities and we have a fully stocked library.
In September 2004 we opened an extension which has a music/occupational therapy room, a speech and language room, the Family Liaison Officer's office and a community room with kitchen and toilets. This is used for our Breakfast Club, coffee mornings, meetings and for parents
Outside there are two playgrounds and grassed areas both with purpose built play equipment. There is also an environmental area with a wildlife garden and pond for the children's interest and study.
In December and January of each year the school holds an Open Day for parents considering sending their child to this school. This is an opportunity for parents to see round the school, hear about our pre-school visits and ask questions.
Please click on 'Parents Information' link for dates of 'Open Days'.
Following confirmation of places for admission, parents are invited to meetings in the summer terms 5 & 6, giving the children several opportunities to spend either a morning or an afternoon in school before they start officially in September.
